Motor Control Centre (MCC)

MCC panel, commonly known as a Motor Control Center, is a crucial component in electrical systems used for controlling and operating electric motors in commercial and industrial settings. Motor Control Centers (MCCs) serve as centralized hubs for motor control. They allow efficient and orderly operation of electric motors.MCCs are designed to control multiple electric motors from a central location.MCCs are essential in facilities where several electric motors are required. They find use in various applications, including heating, cooling, lighting, and motor-driven machinery. The motor control centers are combination of multiple enclosed sections having common busbars and each section containing power contactors, protective relays, isolators and other control and indication devices. The MCC are also fitted with VFD’s, PLC’s, metering etc. as required.

Features

  • It centralizes all or some motor control and operation in one place.

  • Makes it easier to perform preventive maintenance for motor control panels and components.

  • MCCs need less wiring effort and cost. All MMCs have all or most of the motors of the organization in one place.

  • Cost-effectiveness. MCC needs one power source. We usually use one main bus bar to feed all of them..
